The children have been observing birds and reading information books to identify which species of birds have visited the Nursery garden. They made tally marks to record their findings.
“Robins. They lay eggs. My nana likes robins.”
“The magpie is carrying a stick in its mouth.”
“It’s building a nest for its babies.”
“I saw the magpie. Magpies eat eggs and worms. They fly.”
“Let’s go and dig for worms in the ground.”
“I’ve seen 2 birds and they have black feathers.”
“Birds fly up in the sky. We walk with our legs and we use our feet for standing.”
“Birds flap with their wings, flap, flap.”
“My mummy gave me wings so I could fly.”
“I’m Spider-Girl and I can fly.”
“I saw a crow a long time ago. It was hanging on the washing line.”
