Thank you to families who sent in photos and came to talk to us about Easter. We learnt that Christians celebrate the Easter festival to remember the death of Jesus and how he came back to life again. Easter is a huge celebration with Christians going to church, giving Easter cards and Easter eggs. People also like to decorate eggs and eggs are used as a symbol for new life. We went on Easter egg hunts in the school garden, drew and coloured Easter eggs as well as singing ‘Hot Cross Buns’ at our Easter Singalong.
“Jesus died. He held a cross. He was in the cave and then he was alive.”
“The soldiers put him on the cross. They put nails in his hands and toes. He was on the cross for 10 days and died until they put him in a cave where Jesus came back to life.”
“The church, a building like the Big Ben.”
“I do dancing at church.”
“I go to church with my friend.”
“I have hot chocolate at church.”
“I had an egg, a medium egg and ate it all myself.”
“My mummy bought me a special Easter egg. What did your mum get you?”
“I want to go on an Easter egg hunt right now.”
“I found one.”
“One more to go!”
“I can’t find another egg.”
